Corporate Rebel: A Custom Capsule Wardrobe Client Profile
Profession: UX Designer
Age: Mid 30's
Season: Fall 2026
This case study shows how a Pittsburgh-based personal stylist used a Custom Capsule Wardrobe to solve a tech industry client's biggest shopping frustration - wildly inconsistent sizing across brands - while building out her rock 'n roll-inspired, black-and-red aesthetic.
About the Client
This client came to me seeking more "style" in her outfits. She wanted her Custom Capsule Wardrobe to represent her rock 'n roll roots, embracing her black palette while finding ways to add dimension and texture. Working in tech meant there was no dress code to work around, allowing the wardrobe we designed for her to move easily from weekdays to weekends.
Her biggest challenge when shopping for herself was sizing. Depending on the brand, she could wear three to four different pant sizes, and she consistently struggled to find jackets that fit her broad shoulders. These sizing variables had caused so much frustration and confusion that she was thrilled to hand the puzzle over to us.

Style Priorities
-
A palette that was mostly black, with red accents
-
Prints including leopard, polka dot, pinstripe, and checkerboard
-
Learning how to wear and style skirts
-
Pants and jeans in balloon and horseshoe silhouettes

Fit Hacks
-
Leather jackets in soft, supple leather so they wouldn't feel tight through the arms
-
Blazers in boyfriend cuts to accommodate her broad shoulders
-
Balloon and horseshoe shaped jeans and pants, with seams added at the ankle by our tailor for the perfect architecture
-
Cuffing and tacking pants so her ankle boots and high-top sneakers could be highlighted

Personal Touches
-
Band tees with cool graphics from bands she actually listens to
-
Silver jewelry she could wear like a second skin
-
Finding the exact right red print scarves - and learning how to tie them
Building the Wardrobe: Our Focus
Being a designer herself, this client had a keen eye for graphics and a highly developed sense of taste. That made it especially fun to introduce her to smaller brands and independent designers, knowing she'd appreciate the unique edge and elevated quality. Some of the brands that ended up being slam dunks were Dressed in Lala, Lucy and Yak, and Kate Hewko. From maximalist tulle skirts to traditional rocker-girl prints without the cheese, these brands gave our client a point of view she knew she wouldn't find anywhere else in the office.
The Result
The images shown here are a small representation of her collection. The true success was landing this client in her perfect fits - 15 pairs of pants, jeans, and skirts, all in different prints, styles, and fabrics, plus 5 coats, jackets, and blazers. She finally owned an abundance of the items she'd struggled with most, along with an outfit and style guide that made getting dressed each day fun and inspiring.

“How is it that I am a size extra small in one jacket and a large in others? I would have given up way before landing on the correct sizing. Not only am I really excited about my new outfits, I love that I could pass this sizing puzzle off to you!”
Frequently
Asked
Questions

What is a Custom Capsule Wardrobe?
It's a fully personalized, pre-curated collection of clothing and accessories - sourced, measured, and styled for a client in advance - so they can shop an entire private mini-boutique in one sitting instead of building a wardrobe item by item.
Can a capsule wardrobe solve inconsistent sizing across brands?
Yes, because Vallozzi Styling does the research for you and handles the orders and returns. Also, at Vallozzi Styling, every piece is fitted and tailored specifically to the client, so our Custom Capsule Wardrobes eliminate the guesswork of shopping across brands with different size standards.
Do stylists work with clients who already have a strong personal style?
Absolutely. This client already had a clear point of view - rock 'n roll, black-and-red, print-driven. Styling here meant sourcing and fitting pieces that matched her existing taste, not creating a new one.
